Štěpánka Pučálková - mezzo-soprano

The mezzo-soprano Štěpánka Pučálková is an absolvent of the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She performed in number of productions at the Landestheater in Salzburg and performed also at the Salzburger Festspiele. Štěpánka is engaged in Semper Oper Dresden and performs as a guest in the Prague State Opera, the National Theatre Prague, the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava as well as in the Landestheater Bregenz. She is a laureate of the "Best Female Voice Award" from the International Singing Competition Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini in Marseille, France.


 

The Czech mezzo-soprano Štěpánka Pučálková has been a soloist and a member of the Semperoper ensemble in Dresden since 2018.

She was born in Berlin and graduated from the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria with master's degree. She studied there under the supervision Prof. Elisabeth Wilke, E. Gramsse and J. Wallnig.

In the season 2021/2022 she will give her debut at the Semperoper as Adalgisa "Norma", Hänsel "Hänsel und Gretel" and as Hagar in the world premiere of the modern opera "Die andere Frau".
Ms. Pucalkova performed at the 30th International Music Festival in Český Krumlov as a guest of Maestro Plácido Domingo at the opening gala concert.

She has participated in many significant international music festivals and theatres such as Mozartwoche Salzburg, Salzburger Festspiele, Osterfestspiele Salzburg, Beijing Music Festival and others.

She debuted as Siegrune in "Die Walküre" at the 50th Salzburg Easter Festival, an opera conducted by Christian Thielemann, accompanied by Staatskapelle Dresden, directed by Vera Nemirova.
This production also premiered in Beijing in autumn 2017 as a co-production with the Beijing music festival.

In 2018 she made her debut at the National Theater in Prague as Charlotte, "Werther", for which she was awarded the National Theatre Award for the artists under the age of 35 and was nominated for the Thalia Award.

In 2019 she performed under the baton of Maestro Plácido Domingo at a concert "Mozart's birthday" at the Estates Theater in Prague.

She is a laureate of the Lilli Lehman Medal (Stiftung Mozarteum Foundation) and received the "Best Female Voice" award from the Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini 2016 in Marseille.
She was also a semi-finalist at Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition 2015.

She has already performed several roles on her home scene (Semperoper Dresden) such as the role of Pope Urbain in Meyerbeer's "Les Hugenots", Sesto Pompeo in "Giulio Caesare", Cherubino in "Marrige of Figaro", Muse / Nicklaussee in "Tales of Hoffmann", Rosina in "The Barber of Seville" and Olga in "Eugene Onegin". In January 2020 she gave her debut as Carmen at the Volksoper Vienna.
